Project overview

A UK-wide NHS marketing campaign with a clear objective of recruiting more medical consultants for NHS Devon from areas across the UK.

From conducting market research to crafting films and marketing the end product, our highly targeted multimedia campaign was designed to create a compelling narrative to educate and inspire consultants to live and work in our spectacular county.

Market research

Qualitative and quantitive market research was undertaken to gather the right insight.

We undertook in-depth qualitative and quantitative research, interviewing a wide pool of qualified consultants living and working in Devon to uncover their behaviours and motivations. This spanned speaking to those who have lived in Devon their whole lives, to those who have relocated from the other side of the globe as well as identifying the locations with the highest density of qualified consultants.

Creating a film series

Six consultant specialties, each requiring a unique film.

The campaign involved us creating six films, each capturing the essence of one specialty at a time and featuring real consultants sharing what it’s really like in and outside of their workplace. Pairing the unique selling points of the specialties and hospitals with the region's exceptional work-life proved to be the perfect balance.

Logo design

Designing a logo to strategically bolster NHS recruitment efforts in Devon through a compelling visual identity.

In support of NHS staff recruitment efforts in Devon we created a new logo device, “We are the NHS in Devon.”

This aimed to convey the pride of individuals working within the NHS in Devon, showcasing their strong sense of community and professional fulfillment. By highlighting the supportive environment, career advancement opportunities, cutting-edge technology, and superior work-life balance, we sought to amplify their message to potential recruits.

For maximum brand recognition, we utilised the NHS Frutiger typeface and adopted the signature NHS Blue and NHS Black colours, ensuring instant association with the NHS brand.

Exhibition & Promotional 

Exhibition collateral to stop potential recruits in their tracks.

Event, exhibition, and promotional material was key to the recruitment strategy for NHS Devon to help as they proactively reach out to prospective candidates and attract them to live and work within the region.We created a variety of collateral, from show stands to business cards, highlighting the scenic beauty and the abundant career opportunities available within the NHS in Devon.

The results

A hyper-targeted marketing strategy aimed at qualified consultants to drive behaviour change.

With a real shortage of consultants across six specialties across Devon, we ensured to target UK regions with the highest density of qualified consultants gained from the upfront marketing research across a variety of key digital channels including Google, Facebook, LinkedIn, and more. The events had great engagement and proved a real success in increasing enquiries along with the films and media to support and enhance the real stories of those living and working for the NHS in Devon.
